What is a KrillTag?

A KrillTag is your unique identifier on KrillPay. Just like a username, it differentiates you from other users and makes it easy for people to send you money without needing your phone number, email, or account details.

How do I create a KrillTag?

You’ll be prompted to create a KrillTag when setting up your KrillPay account. Once created, your KrillTag is permanently linked to your account.

What are the requirements for a KrillTag?

  • Must be unique (no two users can share the same KrillTag).

  • Can include a combination of letters and numbers.

  • Maximum of 15 characters.

  • No special characters or spaces are allowed.

Examples:
Chioma23
Emmanuel001
@Chioma23
Best!User

Can I change my KrillTag?

No. Once you create your KrillTag, it cannot be changed. Please choose carefully when setting it up.

Can someone else claim my KrillTag?

No. Once you create a KrillTag, it is permanently yours and cannot be used by another user—even if you close your KrillPay account.

Why do I need a KrillTag?

Your KrillTag makes it simple for others to find you and send money. Instead of sharing your phone number, email, or account number, you can just share your KrillTag.

Does my KrillTag replace my account number?

No. Your KrillTag is just a shortcut for sending and receiving money within KrillPay. You’ll still have a routing and account number for direct deposits and external transfers.

Can I have more than one KrillTag?

No. Each user can only have one KrillTag linked to their KrillPay account.

Is my KrillTag case-sensitive?

No. Chioma23 and chioma23 will point to the same user.

Can businesses use KrillTags?

Yes. Businesses can create KrillTags to make it easier for customers to pay them directly. For example: KrillStore01.
